Froccupy at the 'Rise and Repeal' March
Posted on 24 September 2016
We'll be taking to the streets today to show our support for the campaign to repeal the 8th amendment.
The 5th annual March for Choice, organised by the Abortion Rights Campaign, takes place in Dublin today with thousands expected in what is hoped will be the biggest turnout in the history of the event.
The theme of this year's march is 'Rise and Repeal', which organisers say is 'a comment on the failure of our Republic to fulfil the promise of equality made in 1916'.
Commencing at the Garden of Remembrance, Parnell Street, participants are asked to begin assembling there from 1.30pm. (Check out the google map here for location and directions.)
The march will officially start at 2pm, moving from Parnell Street to the Dáil, where there will be a demonstration outside calling on politicians to repeal the 8th amendment.
